Technology?
Authored by: Anonymous on Wednesday, August 22 2012 @ 11:50 PM EDT
I disagree.

I have had several Apple devices.

All but one developed serious hardware problems relatively quickly.

The walled garden approach they employ is another example of poor technology by
Apple.

So is the increasing elimination of the ability of buyers to tinker with the
hardware, e.g. no ability to replace the battery on past devices, or the new Mac
Book Air being essentially welded shut.

And then there is the fact that they drop support for earlier OSs really, really
fast, even faster than Microsoft does.

These are all examples of bad technology. I'm not going to be taken in by
"pretty" when something is not functional.

Add all of the above to their attitude, as you describe, including their recent
litigation mania, and their historic antipathy to downright hostility to libre
software, and there are PLENTY of reasons to avoid Apple like the plague.

My sister has an iPad. I'm familiar with it. I like my Android tablet much
better.
