Is that the story they tell in England? That's not what I heard in the colonies.

Here's what led up to the Boston Tea Party, and yes, it was about tea, specifically the Tea Act of 1773, which was passed to enable Britain's East India Tea Company to dump its tea that wasn't selling there in the colonies, undercutting local sellers by bypassing tariffs eveyone else had to pay.

What I find interesting is that in Roman times, the Picts came from Scotland and
the Scots came from Ireland!
