They catalog everything, yes. But can they connect every bit of information
about me to my name? Hint: no. I've tried, with the advantage of knowing what
the connections are going in, and I still can't get Google's search to locate
everything about me starting from just my identity. So I could easily make
comments about the case and not have them show up as coming from me. And that's
not even counting places like media outlets that don't allow Google to index
them because they don't want Google linking to their content without
paying.
Plus, if Google did tie everything together like that, they'd run
afoul of privacy laws and court rulings. The people they'd be looking at are
not parties to the case, and absent a subpoena or other official order I
don't think Google's permitted to assemble that kind of private personal
information and make it public. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
