Google has never paid him. Not that I expect them to ever want to be associated
with him, but in my opinion, his writings are still consistent with a mouthpiece
for hire without a conscience. He does stay with a general anti-FOSS theme, but
he does take on some projects that don't fit with that explanation: opposing
Oracle's acquisition of MySQL, defending that IBM emulator against IBM, and
possibly some others (I can't say I read much of what he writes). It looks to me
as if he is selling a product: fabricate bad press about various initiatives
that can't be successfully attacked by honest means. I smell no rat apart from
that. Mind you, that is a big enough rat in itself for me to reach for the trap.
I'm just not believing he is on a personal mission here. In my opinion, he just
does this for a living.
