I always give the example of a co-worker many years ago. She was in the habit of
complaining "my computer's broke". Given that she had a PC and a
terminal on her desk, and would then just disappear, I soon learned to ignore
her unless she went back to her desk and showed me what was wrong.

Usually she meant "the program on the mini-computer isn't doing what I
expect". But until I realised that, I wasted a fair bit of time trying to
fathom what was wrong with her PC.
