As a citizen of my country, I am required to obey the laws of that country. Can
I be held accountable for not obeying the laws of the country if the laws are
written in a language that I do not understand and which has not been taught in
the schools of that country?

This reminds me of one of my favorite book series, particularly the last three
books of David Brin's Uplift series. One subtheme is English' ambiguity, which
leads to both misunderstandings and sometimes unanticipated concepts. Time for
me to reread them.
