IPv6 - Cyber Crooks Licking Their Chops, Say Mounties

A massive changeover now ongoing from one Internet system to another means your home computer, smart phones, TV, fridge, and home heating could all become connected to the Internet. But it could also creates a higher risk your banking data could be stolen and government infrastructure could be sabotaged.

Those were the findings of a December 2011 report by the RCMP's criminal intelligence branch, obtained by The Tyee under the access to information law (although partially censored for security reasons). You can read the [.PDF] document here.

T he report looked at how the switch from IPv4 to IPv6 will impact the Canadian police's ability to combat cyber crime over the next two years, and how criminals can exploit the transition mechanisms.

Judge Koh Finally Makes Decision in Samsung's Favor!
Authored by: Anonymous on Tuesday, August 14 2012 @ 11:12 AM EDT

I'm in shock as she kicked Galaxy S (supposedly the greatest "Copyist" of all time), Galaxy SII and Ace to the curb. Well I mean off the infringing list. What does this mean for the Damages Expert's $2.5 Billion Bottom and his $2.7 Billion all or nothing calculations? Well I think even if Apple wins, those numbers will come tumbling down.

I have visions of jurists scratching each other's eyes out trying to get more or less for Apple or Samsung. Whomever they love the most... FAN WARS!

I would love to be a fly on the wall in the case they do give Apple at least some wins. Because Gamer dude (if he's a Apple fan) will think they're dealing with Monopoly Money. Which in a way that's true. Because they both would like to collect $200 Billion Dollars bypassing GO, without going to Jail!

Who’s gaming whom at Apple vs. Samsung?
Authored by: betajet on Tuesday, August 14 2012 @ 05:28 PM EDT
From Geek Times:
Attorneys for Apple and Samsung pointed fingers suggesting the other is playing games behind the scenes at their $2.5 billion patent infringement trial here. Charges flew after the jury was excused for a lunch break here following testimony from an expert who said Apple infringes three Samsung cameraphone and music patents.
