in the smart phone market so I would guess they saw it comming. It is obvious
they (Apple) need this suit to work as a fire wall. Your points are well taken
that strong leadership is a double edged sword. The guy was a creative genius
but that left deep scars which will have to be addressed. Gonna be tough to
retain the market cap going forward.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

I've always felt they had another Achilles heel too. Their reliance on one
product line along with their insistence that nobody else should have or use
their OS. How strong would Apple be now if they had produced several versions of
the iPhone at different price levels as Samsung are doing with their Android
phones? Or if they had licensed the OS to the other manufacturers before Android
had chance to gain a foothold? Jobs took strong decisions but they contain the
seeds of Apple's downfall. Apple created the markets but its not taken the
opportunity to dominate them and to sustain development in quickly maturing
markets means steadily increasing pressures on research and design. Apple is
both greedy and fragile and bringing this case against Samsung shows both.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
