Most Media Servers Work, HTC MediLinkHD to HDMI!
Authored by: Anonymous on Friday, August 10 2012 @ 08:34 PM EDT
Instructions are on XDA Developer site. But just one way posted
there below.
"""And I'll repeat again since there are so many of These
threads. You can use an HTC MediaLinkHD for streaming to a tv.
Purchase and plug in medialink. Go to the market and search for
"medialink" Install an app called Wi-Fi Media by Cavium. (Will
not come up if you search wi-fi media) When you open the app,
you can pick any of your music or video stored on the device,
and for the output renderer choose the medialinkHD. Simple as
that. Yes, you can always do this via your ps3 or xbox, or home
theater pc .. ETC. But this provides a traveling solution. That
will work in more then just your own house.""" These are
expensive... $70 to $100+ and there are cheaper options
available.

Hopefully Google Asus come out with their own adapter or
actually it's why they introduced Nexus Q (but it's been
postponed shipment to include more features. I pre-ordered one,
so I'll get it free now):D

For $40 you can get this Media Server. Hook up via Wifi or USB
if it recognizes the Nexus 7 as USB drive. ICS Android does
this now. But that doesn't mean Jelly Bean does on every device
yet.

Have a PS3 or Xbox 360 with Wifi DLNA? You can use any one of
100's of Media Server App in Play Store to stream wirelessly to
PC's and Media Center PC's. Google Play is getting it's own
Media Center App in the store soon. You don't have to be
hardwired. Most any DLNA device will allow Media Streaming!

Keep your MIND and Eyes Open for other options, but discount
Nexus 7, because that lack of MHL capability. The Cloud is the
Future and you can either be on the cutting edge of Future or
lost in the FUD of Haters, who don't want Nexus to be
successful!

Ebay Search List of various Wifi and USB Media Servers!

A USB-B.

My wife got one a week ago, and has just gone off to Switzerland with it.

Cheers,
Wol
