I have a pre-pay cell, as does my wife. I'll put £10 on it once every three to
six months.
My wife puts rather more on, but, as a Brown Owl she often needs to make calls
while away from home, her brother's only phone is a cell-phone, and our
daughters are cell-phone addicts. Seeing as cell-to-cell is cheaper than
landline-to-cell, it makes sense to use her cellphone then.
And we don't use our landline much for chargeable calls so it's not worth paying
a premium for cheap cellphone calls. Her other brother ended up in a bit of a
spat with his telco, dunno exactly what happened but I think his landline was
configured with both (a) paying a premium for cheap cellphone calls and (b)
cellphone calls were blocked. Huh?
Cheers,

I will get a cell phone when I can get a phone for any price and an any price
phone call charge (one time cost is no objection). I don't want a monthly or
yearly charge. I will only use the phone probably once every two years (exactly
when I don't know) when my car breaks down and I can't get to a land phone.
I don't suppose I will ever get an offer like that from the cell phone
companies. *sigh*[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
