If you have all information on you calibration program and the calibration
hardware you ought to be able to run it on any computer with a RS232 port.
Why exactly are you locked into Windows98 or earlier?

I have used MSDOS 6.22 on a device controlling a SV900C (a research ventilator)
but that was because I needed dependable real-time performance and MSDOS 6.22
was the last MicroSoft product that could operate in real-time. It could had
been done in linux or BSD also, but in the time allocated if easier to use
MSDOS.
