You and I my friend know too much to answer your questions.
Consider someone whose knowledge of these matters is so minimal
they have been doomed dumb enough to serve on the jury who
will decide this case. Someone who does not own a smartphone,
hey, one of the jurors doesn't own any sort of cellphone. Now
suppose that person is given a Brand X phone by a well meaning
friend. How long will it take the recipient to find out if said phone
is Brand X or Brand Y? Will they have sufficient curiosity to care?

Yes. I've seen them in western China.
