It also shows how screwed up the American legal system is.

I think it's obvious that they are. Lucy Koh worked for
Apple's legal team in this case prior to being appointed by
Obama to Federal District Court. She was also assigned to
some Apple cases while there. She still knows and
communicates with colleagues at her former law firm. This is
why there many public attempt to have her removed from the
case! (IANAL)

Only one of Public Petitions posted in an attempt to have
her Impeached:

This has been ongoing since she was first assigned to this
case. It isn't a new hot topic on the Interwebs. As per
Wiki; "Koh has recently overseen 19 nationwide litigations
involving Apple Inc. and associated patents."

Although to be honest she has represented the opposing side
in much of her past work for "McDermott Will & Emery". One
of the most prolific IP Legal Firms in the country!
