In the SW Pacific, pre-iPhone, Samsung devices were mediocre VCR-DVD
player/recorders, vacuum cleaners, suchlike brownware and vanilla
cellphones. We heard there was whiteware too, but they had trouble
keeping up with the domestic Korean demand. But we also knew they
made a lot of their own components to go into their devices. Such
vertical integration makes for industrial muscle,
not someone to meddle with.

If Samsung decides it doesn't want to do business with Apple, and doesn't renew
any contracts, Apple might suddenly find they're having trouble finding parts.
Yes I know there are other suppliers, but if Apple rely on Samsung tech then
Apple might find other suppliers can't supply...
Cheers,
