But why bother asking ?

If someone intent on doing others harm DID put some weapon
into their instrument case (my guess is brass instruments
would be a better choice), then if asked, don't you think
they would lie and claim it is just their musical instrument?

I agree that one should not joke about such when in that
setting, but I also think asking what is in there, is
encouraging those who lack commonsense, to make poor jokes.

No matter what they might answer to that question, it would
make sense to look inside or x-ray or both, that case.

So why even bother asking?
