Which again is why attorneys fees should be claimable by the winner!

Under UK rules, it would have been worth your while to offer to settle for the
troll's sunk costs. At which point, he now faces a choice - walk and get ZERO
profit, or fight and gamble on having to pay your attorneys to defend you.

If you reckon the odds are in your favour, you fight on (maybe upping your offer
to settle as the troll's costs increase).

At which point the odds start turning seriously ugly for the troll.

Cheers,
Wol

Samsung Hardcore Manufactures, Apple Lives in iClouds!

That's exactly the ploy Microsoft uses against Android and
what they attempted to do against Linux. With only Novell
dumb enough to take the bait!

If we could only see Microsoft's Source Code and just how
much they've stolen from IBM (OS/2), Unix, BSD and of course
LINUX, I think it'd blow our minds. But hey at least they
weren't dumb enough to take ignorance to court. As we just
saw Oracle do and we're about to see Apple get it's pie in
the face for.

No doubt this trial is a good thing in a way. Because maybe
we'll finally see the patent system get some much needed
reform. The truth is, that if Apple wins they won't be just
killing Samsung's sales in America. They'll be killing
themselves as well. Because Samsung is right.... in one very
crucial respect; without their internal technology and with
Samsung's own design engineers working with Apple (in order
to fabricate custom processors and circuitry), none of the
iDivices would have ever seen the light of day.

Chip Fabrication is a Science not an minimalistic art form
or Infomercial iStyle marketing. Samsung isn't just an
Electronics Gizmo maker. They have operated Research & Development
facilities around the Globe since the 80's.
They've worked with Texas Instruments, ARM, Apple and many
others to turn their technical designs, mock ups and
external art designs into "Functional Physical Products".
Including building the machinery and production lines to
fabricate the very heart of what makes them tick in the
first place.

This is no small feat. ARM designs chips, but they don't
know how to fabricate them in mass quantities. That's where
Samsung's Expertise gained over many years and BILLIONS of
DOLLARS comes in and where they were able to bring Apple's
devices to LIFE!

In their Austin, Texas Semiconductor facilities is where
Apple went to, with their iDreams. Naturally Samsung has
their Process Technology and Production Technology Patented
to the hilt and they guard their secrets with the utmost tenacity. So much so
that Apple was forced into a waiting
room so to speak, like when you take your car in for
repairs. Being purely an Out Sourced device maker, their own
success relied on Samsung to do the heavy lifting. But they
alone designed the chips in the first two iphone models.
Afterwards only minimally involved in 3GS design, then
buying the almost bankrupt logic design team at Intrinsity.
That had helped only design the logic in Samsung's
Hummingbird Processor, that was then simply re-branded for
Apple's iPad, iPhone GS3 and 4:

Individual Patents are a very small part of what any
industry invests in. Whether they be hardware or software
patents. Even hardware patents are just a small step in
bringing products to life. So Software Patents only bring a
smaller portion of the process to life, than Hardware
Patents and can't be considered concrete until they're
combined in the physical devices they depend on, for their
existence. That's where Samsung Excels at..... Making
Apple's obscure ideas concrete in the real World.

So if Apple wins this case, they'll be shooting themselves
in their own foot the World over. But mostly here, where
Samsung makes the ONLY parts, that can be said to be made in
America. No doubt Samsung is preparing this year to take
last years record investing in Austin Texas (received CiCi
Award) all the way to China. Leaving 1000's of high paid
American workers out of a job, if Apple has their way!

By doing what they do best... spending a record $42 Billion
in CAPEX on building new Fab and manufacturing plants this
year alone. Only this year without spending a dime to build
them here. This whole Apple lawsuit will further result in
the bankrupting of America. All in the interest of
fulfulling a Dead Man's desire to KILL Google Android!!!
