More than smashing it, wouldn't that 1994 video actually hold a copyright on its
contents, including the "rectangle with round corners" (a health and
safety requirement to prevent injury from angled corners?) so for Apple to file
a patent design on it surely they would be in breach of copyright (or as the
riaa would have it Apple are PIRATES) unless they have bought the design from
the copyright holder (whether the video or from whom they licensed it)/previous
own it and licensed it for the video?

He wouldn't have had a patent on that thing, would he?

Because that might explain why it wasn't produced for 20 years.

rectangle = prior atr, non-rounded corners = weapon.

We've seen rectangles pretty much since we were able to see, shortly after
birth. They occur everywhere.

Rounded corners are a basic design unless you want to have really, really,
really sharp corners because those could be dangerous. And, I doubt that anyone
could make a corner for injection moulded or stamped parts that was not rounded
to some degree (radius actually).

And, unless made of some very hard material, the sharp corners would get worn
away and become rounded anyway.

This patent claim is ridiculous!
