Google's Unmerited Damage From Oracle v. Google -- The FOSSPatents Factor ~pj

What do you mean anymore? One would have had to taken him seriously at any time
prior to say anymore.

Let's just stick with the facts, no one has ever taken the blow-hard seriously,
no one ever will.
No one with more than 2 working synapses that is.

The main stream press know exactly what Florian is

He is a valuable resource. Just quote some of his drivel with a link to his site, and you will get a sack full of debunking complaint comments within the hour. You can point at all those complaints and say "Look at this advertisers! my site is worth money!"

He's no longer a patent expert, he's "Patent-watching corporate consultant and commentator Florian Meuller".

It's a mistake not to take him seriously. I think he's dead serious and if the
outcome had been different then we would hear him crooning about how big an
expert he is.

He should be taken seriously because he's part of the environment Google and
other need to work in. His statements do effect decision making of large
companies, Intel and it's Medfield introductory hardware solution that runs
Android for example. Only got serious public notice after Google thrashed its
opponent in court.

I'm not saying that Muller has significant weight in any decision Intel may
make, but certainly his spread of "billions of dollars" in damages can
be enough to set off the alarms and maybe be interpreted as risk considerations
when investing millions on the development of a platform.

I think Pam takes Mullers "propaganda" efforts very seriousness. It's
a shame it can only be appreciated by those of us who care enough to keep
informed. Everyone else may be in the "well it's over now, that was
close" boat. The fact is it wasn't even close, Oracle got its 455 handed
to it on a silver platter. And now it gets to pay for the dish.

Who takes FM seriously? Heise

Unfortunately Heise (with their publications like c't, ix, The H, Heise Online,
etc.) did. Even devoting multiple pages in their flagship print magazine in
Germany to an interview with him.

Heise publications are usually cluefull, but they, or maybe just one powerful
editor, fell for him.

Be kind. Florian Mueller got it almost right. He predicted Oracle would win.
They came second. That's close, isn't it?

Has Florian ever been right?
Authored by: Anonymous on Thursday, July 26 2012 @ 11:29 PM EDT

I once looked at a group of his blog posts, and couldn't find one correct
prediction.

Of course I didn't look at them all, so I may have missed something.
