I've just spent several hours transferring my apps from my old
Huawei U8150 to a new U8815. Apart from those that grizzled they
wanted updates when they should have been already uptodate,
there's another -feature- on the new phone: the buttons along the
bottom for Return to Prev. Screen, Home, & Menu are shuffled around.
At first just spittable annoying that the Return button had changed from
left to right side of the device, then whilst updating an app that
demanded it I noticed all "free" apps that are sustained by ads
have the scrolling banner along the bottom with a "Buy Now"
button in the form of a right facing arrow - immediately above
my new Return button. A slip or fat finger gives at least click thru
revenue for someone. I'm glad when my updates were finished
I was able to turn off WiFi, Blutooth & 3G, and go on living ad-free.

They were never going to call them Java Phones. Google had no interest in a
Java phone. Google need a language with which they could develop apps. Google
was working on their own but weren't ready and no one was using it. So they
used Java because Java had a ready made programming pool.
Google has made its disdain of Java widely known.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
