Gates reacts to M$'s first quarterly loss
Authored by: albert on Wednesday, July 25 2012 @ 03:43 PM EDT
..."an accounting thing...", LOL, good one Bill!

"... working on products for years..."

Bill, you inadvertently got it right! Software companies who
work on products "for years" eventually go out of business.

The handwriting is on the wall (I hope they never figure it
out)

Gates reacts to M$'s first quarterly loss
Authored by: Anonymous on Thursday, July 26 2012 @ 06:48 AM EDT

Having recently read an article on what Elop did wrong to Nokia, I can appreciate what Gates is doing here. And, more importantly, what he's not doing, which is that he's not repeating the mistake of Gerald Ratner, after whom the Ratner Effect is named.

What he's doing, in short, is trying to reassure people so that customers will keep coming to buy, and shareholders won't sell off in a panic. Bill Gates is a man who has a very, very good grasp of how to make money (as evidenced by how successful he has been in that endeavour).
