We object to the Newspaper Licensing Agency's [NLA]
terms
You may be familiar with a dispute between one of our competitors
and the NLA, so far comprising two rounds of court action and a visit to the
Copyright Tribunal. Essentially, in late 2009 (about six months after we first
set Cutbot up as a company), the NLA claimed the right to charge both us and our
customers a licence fee for the links we send to publishers’ content.
We
were astonished when that claim was first made.

Hey all,
I just wanted to share this news with the community, in case
any of you like gaming as much as I do. (Even lawyers like
to sit back, relax and have fun sometimes!) Valve recently
announced that it is supporting Linux for its games, and
releasing a Linux Steam client for Ubuntu 12.04! Valve has
also started a Linux blog to coincide with this
announcement, which can be found here:

Salt Lake Tribune (and most everyone else around here) is reporting the death of
Steven Covey, from a cycling accident which occurred about three months
ago.
If you recall, Covey was one of Darl McBride's 'friends', mentioned
several times in the SCOG saga.
Yes, really off topic, but still relevant
(barely) to Groklaw. --- --Bill. NAL: question the answers, especially
mine. [ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Good for her, and I hope it goes well and when the kid
appears, she shouts "Yahoo!".
But is it news? Is it really a News Pick candidate? I
don't see how it affects technology, intellectual property,
or much of anything else that Groklaw normally covers.
And in the modern (or maybe post-modern) age of gender
equality, it seems like calling attention to Meyers'
pregnancy is rather archaic and sexist.
Is anyone going to make a News Pick post when Zuckerberg
impregnates his wife?[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
