I'm sure most people believed you, but the trouble is that the article just
makes it sound as if the investors wanted Nokia to bring in some fresh blood.
Given that CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo apparently didn't do a very good job, there
would have been a fear that the Executive Vice President, Anssi Vanjoki,
wouldn't have been much better since he was a long-term member of the same
management team. There is nothing unusual about that, if that is all that there
was to it.
One correction, though. You said that the rumor was that the
investors said that it had to be Elop. The article said that it had to be
someone from overseas, which would have allowed the chairman to pick someone
from Asia or the Americas. It looks like they wanted the person to not have too
much of an European focus.
