I believe that you really heard the rumors. We have heard (really read) them
now, too. If you mean that there was an attack of stupidity, then yes. I don't
know that there are signs that it was anything more than that, though.
Any institutional investor would be hurting themselves as much as Nokia if they
forced the board to hire a bad CEO. They wouldn't do that intentionally. If
something shady was going on, there would be a risk of it becoming public. No
doubt the chairman is loosing a ton of money. If he starts getting suspicious
about it, he's going to start naming names. Could something intentional happen
anyway? Yes, but it's very unlikely. There is nothing in the article that you
linked to that looked at all suspicious, so don't jump to conclusions.
There is an old truism: "Never blame conspiracy when you can blame
