This has nothing to do with engineering and quality control
Authored by: Anonymous on Wednesday, July 18 2012 @ 05:44 PM EDT
Sorry. I'm not deliberately misdirecting. (I do tend to
give people the benefit of the doubt, perhaps more than I
should.)

Still, M$'s demonstrated technical 'brilliance' and
attention to detail is relevant to their ability to maintain
reliable audits. There's plenty of room for technical
incompetence in an audit procedure. M$ strike me as less
results-oriented than one might expect. (Frankly,
considering their review process and general corporate
culture, I wouldn't be amazed to find out that person X
sabotaged the audit in order to put egg on person Y.
minimsft provides a really depressing look into their
corporate culture. I've never seen so many engineers with
so little interest in actual engineering.)

I don't believe that M$ is sufficiently idiotic to
deliberately do something so clearly and obviously against
their best interests. I do believe that their organization
is sufficiently problematic that incompetence explains a lot
of their actions.* Once deliberate action is eliminated,
incompetence is a good second bet.

*That said...yes...M$ management does seem to skew evil.
That's probably the main issue with their rank and file. It
is hard to motivate people who are working for the Sith.
