This is why the American Dream, or at least this
particular aspect of it, is a nightmare to
many people. Corporations that put profit above
everything are a danger to humanity, and letting
them have free reign is most unwise, as has been
clearly demonstrated far too many times already.
I don't have the solution, but stubbornly claiming
that there is no problem is obviously not working.
This is getting political, and we had better stop,
but the case is about unrestrained capitalism and
a company exhibiting all the traits of a sociopath.
Bill Gates put a very strong mark on his company,
and I doubt it can be washed off.

Keep in mind that compared to the robber barons of the 19th century, Bill Gates
was an angel. Perhaps that's just because of circumstances. American
corporations have continued to do horrible things, but mostly in foreign
locations.
Another point. It's not just the people at the top. Think of all the people who
were willing to get involved in the slave trade. Think of all the people who
wanted to farm on Indian land and pushed the government to move the Indians out
of the way.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

Don't forget we have had another 10 years of the deceit, so are more experienced
with the Gates behavior.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
