I could not find the true owner of the copyright so all your Groklaw stuff will
soon me mine in the UK.
This is an outrageous and illegal act with horrifying consequences.
If one publishes ones stuff under a nym (e.g. the name of a rock band) the stuff
is only protected from commercial publishers if you give the full copyright
owner's name and address in the metadata. It's a way to stop bands publishing
their work on the internet in order to become well known without the 'benefit'
of an A&R organisation.
Now UKuns will be able to publish the complete commentary works of Ian Al just
because I am not prepared to give my true name and address.
This is a way of 'protecting' independent creatives by stealing their stuff and
selling it at a clear profit.
However, it is not all bad. Any streamed content comes without metadata. It is
impossible to Google for the copyright owner. All those Spotify tracks and UTube
videos are mine, as well!
I think the greedy publishers have just shot themselves in both feet.

Make sure all the photos you care about, even those you don't care about, have
your copyright statement in them.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
