Oh! Somehow I missed the last couple of paragraphs! The part I read wasn't as
bad. It's just explaining how to spin things. Many companies do that. The
problem is that it's really about NetWare and NetWare support, I think. You
would have to assume that the attitude is pervasive throughout Microsoft for it
to apply to this case, so it only goes so far. (I think it does, but how do you
prove it?) Still, it would nudge the jury in favor of Novell argument.
Another interesting paragraph is this one: "Novell uses every opportunity
that we 'lose it' to say something bad against us. 'See they really hate us and
won't work with us.' 'We work with everyone. Microsoft works with no one.' (Then
we get defensive and hit back – exactly the wrong thing to do in my view.)"
He also says that it's the general perception. Maybe that perception comes from
being overly competitive? Meanwhile, if Novell works with everyone, that would
imply that they tend to be cross-platform.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
