I think keyboards probably count as prior art. Tap keys
(password) to unlock a screensaver. This obviously covers a
zero length password where you press "enter"/"return" to
unlock the computer.
If it has to be screen based, then fingerprint readers
contain this (and more) functionality for unlocking with a
tap. Can you patent something which is a simplified version
of an existing invention?
