Cisco/Linksys Router Fiasco

Amazing. Yet another company that thinks it's a good idea to
treat its customers as idiots. "I want them cute cats, but I
don't wanna care where they come from, or how they get
here."
If they get away with this without a consumer outrage,
Orwell's ghost will be saying "I told you so".

What on earth are Cisco thinking? A FIRMWARE update that introduces a forced
cloud "service" and spyware to existing products? I don't see how
they thought this would ever result in anything but a massive consumer
backlash... and possibly regulatory too - I know they claim the right to alter
their terms, but *wow*.
