If that's the case, then it's a "secure by authority's fiat" system,
not actually useful.

The OS itself is no less vulnerable, but once the OS is compromised, it will no
longer boot, as it should no longer match it's signature, so the end user is
"protected" from booting a compromised instance of the OS, and will
know that they have to re-install the OS from scratch to be able to get the OS
to boot once again, and will probably lose all of their data that was on the
computer as well. How many times will that have to happen before the mindless
millions of Windows users will finally begin to understand how bad MS really is?[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]
