Any vaporware aspects of the surface tablets introduction, availability and
functionality will likely severely impede Microsoft's future ability to emulate
Apple product introductions.
The lack of battery capacity isn't surprising and likely demonstrates a
continuing lack of matching Apple's meticulous level of detail and commitment,
note Microsoft is using an off the shelf processor, further signaling the
likelihood of quite a few design goal compromises.
They simply cannot afford to stumble. At all. Microsoft's record doesn't
support the ability to get things right the first time, and you could consider
the initial success of Windows was due to a product vacuum on the part of IBM
and fumbling on the part of a young Apple.
While we can expect a post Jobs Apple to proceed more with feet of clay any
shortcomings in Microsoft's platform implementations will likely not capture
market share they way Apple's products have (so far).

These should sell really well in fire sales after the big flop but will not.
The locked nature of the devices mean NO secondary market. Two flops and they
