Microsoft makes its own tablet and names it "Surface"
Authored by: Anonymous on Wednesday, June 20 2012 @ 04:01 PM EDT

(http://popwa tch.ew.com/2012/06/19/microsoft-surface- tablet/)

What a giant double bait and switch! So typical of Microsoft at its worst.

First off, Microsoft has tagged along multiple hardware vendors and lured them to commit to all kinds of contract deals to be allowed to build Windows 8 ARM tablets for release this year, meaning lots of already sunk costs and possibly mass production already started or committed. Then Microsoft undercuts them with their own product.

Second Microsoft has done extremely heavy viral marketing of their "surface computing" project of wall or table sized touch screens, with free prerelease implementations for research use, product placement in hit shows such as CSI and "Minority Report", etc. And suddenly they use it as the name for their small consumer size tablet hardware.

Doesn't seem like the Google judgement has affected his $36bn net worth too much then....

Someone doesn't seem to like it when the boot is on the other foot.
Wonder if the import ban will happen, might spur your government into sorting
it out properly.

Bill Gates Funds “Galvanic Skin Response” Bracelets That Measure Student Engagement. This involves “galvanic skin response” bracelets that kids would wear so their engagement levels could be measured. Why would anybody spent money on this when some school systems can’t afford to pay their electric bills? More Microsoft Mischief ! Clicky

Article link: Samsung Wins Patent Fight Against Apple in the Netherlands

In a symbolic decision that could help bring the rivaling companies closer to a settlement, a Dutch court gave Samsung Electronics Co. its first victory in court in a slew of global patent disputes with Apple Inc.
A court in The Hague on Wednesday ordered Apple to pay damages for infringing a technical communications patent in some of its mobile devices and tablets, including the iPhone 3G, 3Gs, 4 and iPad 1 and 2.
