IANAL but I'm used to the various Courts covering a multitude of Laws.

Is there really that much in Patent Litigation causing that particular Legal Field to fully require it's own Court who focuses on nothing but Patent Law?

If so: WOW!

I think that alone speaks to just how out-of-hand the whole patent system has gotten.

Hmm... taking a look at the CAFC shows they hear cases on other Laws, not just Patents. So there's an answer to your question I think. Since Copyright falls under Federal Law along with Patents, it does seem appropriate for the case to go to the CAFC.
