Microsoft "Surface"? Ouch, whatta name

ever heard of the term FUD?

They want Android Tablet makers to bail out of making the devices before MS ever
ships a single device.
That way MS can claim a higher market % than would otherwise be the case.

I fully expect an large increase in the prices OEM's who also ship Android
devices have to pay MS for the honour of selling kit with 'MS Inside' labels on
the outside.
This way they'd kill pretty well the competition in one go (and before the even
start selling a thing) apart from probably Apple.

So what happens when the market say that 'the Surface has fallen flat on its
face!'? MS and Mr Balmer will be in for a rocky ride with their shareholders.
If it is a success then I'd expect a gazillion complaints being made to the US
Gov and a literal plethora of law suits to hit them hard and tie them up in
knots for years. An ITC ban on selling the device in the USA would kill it
dead.
And that is even without every competitor taking their devices apart and looking
for the slightest patent infringment. MS won't be able to do a 'barns &
noble' with them all (or will they?)

Interesting times ahead. I can say for sure (as opposed to 'plays for sure')
that I won't be buying one of their toys this side of being put into my coffin.

Ubuntu & 'apt-get' are not the answer to Life, The Universe & Everything which
is of course, "42" or is it 1.618?

But matches their old policy of putting out vaporwear to stop
the movement to the competition (iPad, Android).

Unfortunately for them, I think they're too late.

(Note IANAL, I don't play one on TV, etc, consult a practicing attorney, etc,
etc)
