A G7010 Huawei phone the elder daughter left for her mum to
try out last week runs as a Java based OS not Android. It
looks very similar to an early version of Android though!
Only a year old, no wifi, a resistive screen that wasn't
very responsive, it took longer to re-charge the battery
than to get a big down vote from my wife.
If a Java based phone a year old can be so poor against even
my T-mobile Rapport (U8180 Huawei)which is very basic but
usable, then there isn't much hope for what true Java will
be running on in the future.

I've got a pair of Motorola V980s that constitute 2 of that claimed 3 million.
Can they still be described as "phones"? One hasn't been powered on in
2 years, and the other has been off for quite a lot longer...
