Nokia might have been in better shape than MS
Authored by: stegu on Friday, June 15 2012 @ 07:37 PM EDT
Steve Ballmer pretty much destroyed MS already,
betting the company on Windows Vista and a few
versions of Office that made many users prefer
not to upgrade. They bought some time with
Windows 7, which is unimpressive yet useful,
but with the massive failure of Windows Phone 7
and the rather grim outlook for Windows 8,
Microsoft is not exactly making great progress
under Mr. Ballmer's lead. Mr. Elop might be
looking at the prospect of taking the helm of
a sinking ship while Ballmer heads for the
life boats. They already hit several icebergs,
the engines stopped working a while ago and they
are taking in water all across the ship. They are
still moving out of sheer momentum, and the
information system for first class passengers
is still working and is being used to spread
the message that nothing is wrong, but the rats
are leaving the ship.

Say, that'd be great. Go, Elop.
