I wanted to say that, but didn't want to reply.

Actually, my reply to point 1 would be slightly different to yours. If Gedanken
gave me the computers, but wasn't the person who put the patented invention onto
the protected computer, then NOBODY can tell. Even the person who created the
infringing machine, because he doesn't know what Gedanken did with them.

Point 2 is exactly the one I killed off - as you pointed out, and as *I* pointed
out - you can't analyze the norths and souths because you don't know what they
MEAN. You can tell the magnetic patterns are different, but with no way of
decoding those patterns you can't tell which is the infringing hard disk.
