I write software because I have problems to solve and its the best way of doing
it. If I can understand the problem I can generally solve it in software as all
the tools are already there (and have been for 50 years) and its just a case of
fitting the right spanner onto the right nut at the right time in the right
order.
Sometimes someone pays me to do this - and sometimes they ask me to do patents
to stop other people doing the same thing.[ Reply to This | Parent | # ]

That is, as a developer, I need a job...so I work on what I get paid to do, in
at least the medium term.
I'd love to get paid to do what I love...but I do some of what I love anyway.
Groklaw is convincing me the patent system is strangling the economy....and
maybe should simply be scrapped
