Well, first of all, current scientific consensus is that the universe consists
of nothing. It's a cosmic fluctuation in the background whatever that has no
nett energy and hence is nothing.

Now add in science which only ever proves a negative, and mathematics which says
"you want completeness, consistency, and for things to add up? Pick two,
any two but you can't have all three".

Sorry, EVERYthing in this universe is a matter of belief, other than what we
personally experience. Even history is a matter of belief, because everybody's
viewpoint is different, and once you get beyond living memory things get
throughly muddled by all the observers - after all, didn't Einstein observe that
"the act of observing alters reality"? :-)
