Why don't they just write a Word macro to generate the docs?

I bet a high schooler could do it.

how many pages was that?!?!?

I can't remember the actual number, but the OOXML (!OOXML?) pagecount was
nothing short of ridiculous, although still marginally short of infinite. Even
then, it was still completely undefined in some places with a procedure being
something like 'handle as in Word 95.' I would like to see MS forced to comply
with OOXML, but mainly to see them further drive themselves into bankruptcy by
trying to live with a mess of their own making.

You can't use logical logic (they have the code base) to
deduce MS actions. You have to use MS logic ( we'll stall as
long as possible, since no one with >2 brain cells connected
together is using it)
