Nice. I have been using GNU Octave for a while
as a replacement for Matlab, which is prohibitively
expensive for many applications and many users.
I have also contributed to its code base in a remote
and seldom visited corner that was particularly
important to me. Good to see more free alternatives
in symbolic manipulation as well. I'll check it out.

There is the package Sage that covers much of Mathematics including:

(2) Combinatorics
(3) Calculus
(4) Number theory
