I took a quick look and my eyes started to glaze over almost immediately.
However, I recognised it as the same type of thing as Apple and Google are
dealing with re. Lodsys, maybe even the same patents.
This is the sort of
"invention" that only a vapid marketing type could love. I don't think anyone
competent in human-computer interaction design would treat this as a positive
example of how to do anything. If anything, they would treat it as a
counter-example. The prospect of it actually performing the purported function
(ie. helping to improve a product design) is pretty limited.
In any case, it
is a pretty darned obvious "invention". Given the design requirements, you
could whip up something very similar very quickly, even if limited to 1992
technology (phone lines to a BBS instead of the Internet). Heck, in a pinch it
could be made to work with 1932 technology (ticker tape and a
telegraph/teleprinter).
