Cynical is where you have a basic distrust of people in general so you apply
that to someone who has never proven themselves. That's how I would word being
cynical. From a dictionary:
Believing that people are motivated by
self-interest; distrustful of human sincerity or integrity.
In this
instance though - BSF - the entity under discussion have shown many examples of
their own behavior. I simply remember them :)
Such as the claims BSF
made to the Appeals Court about the previous order the Appeals Court made in the
SCOG vs Novell case. Remember when BSF tried to argue the Appeals Court agreed
with BSF that copyrights transferred and the retrial was only to find out which
copyrights? And when the Jury declared no Copyrights, BSF made that same
argument to the Appeals Court?
What would it be called if - knowing
person X stole from you each of the 10 times they had previously entered your
home - you invite them into your home thinking they won't steal from you again?
Would it be cynical for you to think person X just might steal from you
again?
