APIs in a different language...

Weren't header files specifically cleared in some ruling? Didn't SCO try to pull a fast one with header files? ...but I get what you're saying - perhaps nobody as yet tried to pull an "SSO" on a set of .h files.

I just had another thought. You know how sometimes they'll obfuscate function names to hinder decompiling? Suppose in that vein, one used "Lyrical" function names like...

// API.h
#ifndef API_H
#define API_H

void TheDaffodils(int William, char *pWadsworth);
void OftWhenOn(void);
int MyCouch(char I, int lie);
LPBYTE InVacant(int or, int pensive, char *pMood)
void TheyFlashUpon(void);
int ThatInwardEye(void);
void WhichIs(int the, int bliss);
void OfSolitude(int the, int end);

#endif

The judge was being suitably circumspect.

From page 19 of the ruling:
Should a line need to be drawn to exclude certain manifestations of programs from copyright, that line should be drawn on a case-by-case basis by the institution designed to make fine distinctions — the federal judiciary.
That would be Judge Alsup, who was suitably circumspect in refraining to boldly draw his line to circumscribe more than the particular case at hand.
