Some of it actually reads like a java textbook

I assume the technical detail was in there to help future courts understand that

the decision was made with some understanding of the technology.

Hopefully it will discourage appeals.

In reading his findings in this case, I have a distinct mental impression of a
man
with a nail gun filled with shank nails (almost impossible to pull out),
happily
going about his work of nailing down the shoes of a very slippery
character. He
takes his time, lining up each nail before pulling the trigger to
render the
wriggling eel motionless, where even the higher-ups who are not
carpenters can
see the skill and thoroughness of his work. But especially, they
can see the eel
for what it is.
