After all
Authored by: Wol on Saturday, May 26 2012 @ 06:34 AM EDT
It's not as if the US isn't a multilingual society. Louisiana was French, Texas
was ?Spanish, there's all the native tribes ...

But still they think the world starts and ends at their borders ... why is my
printer incapable of remembering that it physically contains A4 paper? Why does
WordPerfect (actually, here I blame the Canadians) think that I can get American
letter labels even when the document and computer and printer are all set to
A4?

At least LO defaults to A4, but then, it is based in Europe ...

Cheers,
Wol

"The majority in the US only understand Imperial units and not proper ones
at that. (Pint & Gallon)."

You picked the wrong example :-( it was us Brits that got that one wrong by
changing the pint to 20 fl Oz.

A 16 fl Oz pint of water weighs 1lb and is logical.

as of course the fact that 1l of water weighs 1kg in the metric system.

Now we can blame our cousins across the pond for the abomination of decimals of
an inch as opposed to proper fractions 1/2 -1/4 - 1/8 etc.

Here speaks a man who still has to use Miles Chains and sometimes links.
