Oracle counsel tells judge both sides don't understand jury
question. Solution would be to read some claim language.
Alsup dubious.

I'm back in #OraclevGoogle courtroom. Jury at it a week now.
They've got 3 hrs. to either get a verdict or start a 5-day
weekend.

I'm sure they don't know that.

Some tought on copyright
Authored by: Anonymous on Wednesday, May 23 2012 @ 02:24 PM EDT
Hello,

I remember that in the copyright API phase, they tried to
make some analogy with art, music, ...

I we take this analogy a bit further, being able to
copyright SSO would be like being able to copyright Chord
progression of a tune, And this is not possible. Just
imagine someone being able to copyright blues chord
progression and prevent the performance and improvisation of
any blues improvisation. The chord progression, tempo,… is
the SSO that allows jazz and blues musician to improvise.

You can only protect the melody. A number of notes must
exactly match between the two songs, just 2 or 3 notes is
not enough. So a few lines of java code, a mall percentage
that are identical would also be enough.

What a waste of millions of dollars!
Authored by: Anonymous on Wednesday, May 23 2012 @ 02:54 PM EDT
Oracle has to have spent $40 million on this folly. I wonder
if Larry will suffer any consequences.

And think of the millions spent by Google to defend itself
against this canard.

So Scott Mcneally; Larry Ellison et al. Given the "Sun Patent Policy"
document - have you just purjured yourselves? In the UK that will land you in
jail as per http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-17909946

Many thanks for all your hard work covering the trial.

I've kept coming here almost every day for a proper coverage of what was really
happening at the court.
