Some Linux support exists for the WM8750, I suspect
Authored by: Tkilgore on Tuesday, May 22 2012 @ 02:57 PM EDT
As I understand, the 8750 is a newer generation of the WM8505. There is a Debian
port which runs on the 8505. The kernel used is the now ancient 2.6.29 kernel
which was released by the manufacturer to run the 8505 on Android. There is also
an ongoing project to produce a contemporary kernel for the 8505 and successor
chips. Some progress has been made.

VIA launches $49 Android PC

All of these tiny boards seem to be short in the ram
department. It seems too bad they can get OK graphics, SD
support, and then have too little ram to take advantage of it
all.

apart from Debian and the train wreck that Ubuntu has become recently.

For example:-

Ubuntu & 'apt-get' are not the answer to Life, The Universe & Everything which is of course, "42" or is it 1.618?

Debian should run on it - worse comes to worse you use the
embdebian port (embedded debian).

Of course, you may not have all the heavyweight graphics,
but some of us aren't sure you need them anyway.

(Note IANAL, I don't play one on TV, etc, consult a practicing attorney, etc,
etc)
