Very few of the software patents I've read appear to do this.

They describe a problem and a solution in fairly general terms, but do not
generally describe a specific implementation at all. Because of this, they
really aren't much help if you want to reproduce the solution in question.

This seem to be very different from other classes of patents, where one is given
enough detail to be able to create a copy of the reference implementation.
