I know what you mean, but I also think of trademarks, and making sure customers
get what they think they're paying for. Plus there's all that rewriting of
history.
If Dom Perignon invented Champagne, how come we have a description, IN LONDON,
of "how to make champagne" dated the year he was born?
You're aware that you can NOT make Stilton cheese in the village of Stilton (the
village that the cheese was named after, by the way, not a different village
with the same name).
And how Wensleydale Cheese nearly disappeared when the Wensleydale Creamery was
closed? (Blue Wensleydale. Georgeous mmmmm. But I haven't seen it for years ...
:-(
All silly little stories about names. But I have no problem with that so long as
it is kept solely within the realm of trademarks and trade dress.
Cheers,
